Good Things Are Happening At Ford!...Quality Keeps Climbing!

· The quality of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brand vehicles is second to none, according to the 1st Qtr 2008 U.S. Global Quality Research System (GQRS) study conducted on Ford’s behalf by the RDA Group.

· The latest QQRS results show our initial quality is up by 8%, driving us to an industry-leading statistical tie with Toyota and Honda. Last year, we were on par with Toyota in the number of Things Gone Wrong (TGWs). This year, we’ve caught Honda, as well.

· The GQRS survey evaluates customer feedback from owners of our vehicles and competitors’ products after three months of ownership. In addition to measuring TGWs, the study also rates customer satisfaction. The survey shows our customer satisfaction levels improved by 1 point.

· 36 out of 40 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda and Volvo nameplates have improved since the prior GQRS study. Fifteen Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles are ranked in the top three of their respective segments in TGW performance, customer satisfaction or both categories.

· Two of our engineering functions have achieved best-in-class levels: body interiors and electrical systems. Ford tied for best in class in two other functions – vehicle engineering and paint.

· Thanks to our commitment to teamwork and discipline in our processes, our team continues to drive quality improvements. Our strong launch performance is improving our overall quality ratings. The new 2008 Ford Focus, Taurus and Escape have each outperformed their respective out-going models.
